Tourism Office of Yogyakarta Special Province will hold art and music tourism recovery post-eruption of Merapi in the area attractions Kaliurang, Sleman, 28-29 May 2011. He said the performing arts and music activities as part of tourism recovery post-eruption of Merapi in Kaliurang area attractions and interest of tourists expected to visit attractions in the mountains is increasing.
"Ground conditions of post-eruption had been recovered, although not 100 percent or crowded as before the eruption of Merapi occurred some time ago. Hopefully performing arts and music activities in this Kaliurang could restore the economy and citizens Kaliurang Sleman District," said Halim.
According to him, a number of bands that will perform in the stage, among them, the group Mix and several local bands, namely Yogyakarta Plus, Hoss Band, Legend B, Joyo Plus, and Music Plus. "Meanwhile, shadow puppets will take the stage play 'Semar Mbangun Heaven' with puppeteer Ki Edi Suwondo as well as guest star and comedian Dalijo Yu Beruk," he said.
According to Halim, Kaliurang attractions within 29 miles to the north of Yogyakarta has a facility consisting of 250 hotel star class, jasmine, and homestays.
Other facilities at these attractions, among them, park recreation area of 10,000 square meters equipped children's playground and swimming pool. In addition, the available viewing post to see the summit of Mount Merapi and the campground.
In the area there are also Kaliurang Plawangan Hill Park and Bukit Turgo. To enjoy the scenery on the Ground, tourists can walk around using the mini train or a train known as the rabbit.
